Men's Makeup? / by Nathan Dalby

makeup-all Makeup, kind of a taboo subject around men. My views? If women wear it everyday for themselves, then why shouldn't we? I decided to write this post today because so many men feel inadequate and lack self confidence and if I can give you a couple of tips on products to buy to help that, then why not.

The products I have here today are perfect for any man, to help quickly cover up a pimple or correct an uneven skintone. They are so simple to use and only add about 5-10 minutes to your morning routine.

Foundation and BB cream, if you suffer from redness or an uneven complexion then this is your dream product. The two foundations above are the 'Nars Sheer Glow' and 'Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Foundation'. These two items are super lightweight and are barely noticeable, each product goes along way and you barely need one pump to cover your face. If you are looking for something even more weightless then the 'Lab Series BB Tinted Moisturizer' is a lifesaver. A BB cream is a tinted moisturiser so it will completely hydrate your skin and leave it looking even and with a nice glow.

With the three products above it is so important to get the right shade for your skintone, both foundations offer a large variety of shades and if you pop in to see a make up artist they will be more than happy to help match your skin to one of the shades that they offer.

Concealer, the must have item. If you want to brighten up parts of your face or simply cover up a blemish then you need one of these concealer sticks. First we will talk about a super high coverage product which will completely cover up anything. The 'Make Up For Ever Camouflage Cream Palette' is great if you have a blemish or birthmark on your face that you want to hide. The palette also includes two correctors, the green counteracts redness and the peachy orange is great for dark circles. You just blend a little in the trouble spot and then go over it with one of the concealing shades and you dark circles will be gone! The two stick concealers are the 'Too Faced Born This Way Concealer' and the 'Chanel Correcteur'. Stick concealers are extremely creamy and blend out very easily, as they have a doe foot applicator, they can precisely target pimples and any other small blemishes. They are not as full coverage as the Make Up For Ever palette but they can be thrown into your bag and are so handy if you need a quick fix up.

I have three 'other' items that aren't a necessity but if you want, can really add definition and make your skin look extra perfect. The 'Nars Illuminator' is a light liquid highlighter, so if you mix this in with your BB cream or foundation it will make your skin look so healthy and give you a lovely warm glow. This product comes in quite a few shades so you will be able to find the perfect one that you love. The 'Dior Fix It Colour Corrector Sticks' are for fantastic to correct any discolouration on your skin. It can take a while to get the hang of colour correcting but once you have it, you won't look back. I suggest watching one of the many tutorials on Youtube, they are so incredibly helpful. Last but not least, the "Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water' has so many uses. Spritz a little on your face when you wake up to hydrate your skin or after you have applied foundation/concealer to lock in the product and make it last all day.

Makeup shouldn't be something to be embarrassed about,  so if you want to wear something then go and do it! I hope that I have taught any of you something with this post and please subscribe to see more posts on my blog.
